Stefano Bollani (born 5 December 1972, Milan) is an Italian jazz pianist from Milan, one of the best in the italian panorama.
He made his professional debut at fifteen and received his diploma in piano from the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence. He performs classical music, smooth jazz, Brazilian jazz, and pop rock. In 1998, Musica Jazz magazine voted him Best Jazz Talent of the Year and later he would be awarded for jazz by a New Swing group in Japan. Recently he attended the Jarasum Jazz festival in Jarasum, South Korea. While he is mostly known for his collaborations with Enrico Rava, he has made several albums as a leader, and has been favourably acknowledged by several long established jazz musicians, such as Martial Solal. Lo stile di Bollani è particolarmente eclettico e ricchissimo di citazioni musicali, ama scherzare ed improvvisare con il pubblico e non disdegna collaborazioni originali come quelle coi cantautori Massimo Altomare e Bobo Rondelli (con il quale ha inciso l'album Disperati intellettuali ubriaconi da Bollani personalmente arrangiato), spettacoli teatrali con l'attore David Riondino e la Banda Osiris, apparizioni televisive (Meno siamo meglio stiamo con Renzo Arbore) e radiofoniche (Caterpillar, su Radio Due).
