LIFE DRAWING

The meeting includes a session of drawing from life
models, posed in various poses in which they are
given basic knowledge on the forms, proportions and
technique of chiaroscuro. Using pencils and
charcoal. The course, taught by the illustrator and
graphic designer PaoloVagnetti, requires a minimum
basic level of design. A total of 6 hours. Min 6 Max 8

L’incontro prevede una seduta di disegno con
modella dal vero, ritratta in varie pose in cui verranno
impartite nozioni base sulle forme, proporzioni e
tecnica chiaroscurale. Teniche usate: matite e
carboncino. Il corso, tenuto dall’illustratore e grafico

Lidò Dinner Music is going on offering several dinner and music events taking place in one of the most suggestive venue of the Trasimeno Lake: Hotel Restaurant Lidò in Passignano. On Saturday June 18th the amazing show “Mina in Black” in which the refined singer from Chicago Cheryl Porter performs evergreens by the great Mina involving our memories in a black music key. Till the 27th of August the great live music is combined with delicious dinners at the suggestive sunset on the lake: 30’s Swing , ‘50s Jive and the great Italian music tradition is mixed with Soul, Etno Folk, Blues and Jazz.

La straordinaria cantante di Chicago ripercorre alcuni brani dell’intramontabile Mina, sobriamente riletti in chiave Jazz. La sua voce a volte sussurrata, a tratti potente, sempre elegante, ci regala intense emozioni e fa vibrare le corde della nostra memoria a ritmo delle sonorità afro-americane.

THE MIDDLE AGE IN BEVAGNA WITH THE GAITE MARKET UP TO THE 26TH OF JUNE

The market of the Gaite or Guaite is an evocation of the everyday life of the Middle Ages that takes its inspiration from the antique division of Bevagna in four districts.

Along the most suggestive streets and corners of the city, the population involves itself in the organization of handicraft shops, of typical markets of antique times and taverns, where one can taste dishes prepared according to the antique Umbrian recipes. The event is enriched of spectacles, concerts, exhibitions and conferences that, together with the competition of archery, are animating the already very busy evenings. Inspired by the habits described in antique medieval documents, Bevagna proposes the same intense atmosphere of the handicraft activities with noises and gestures forgotten by our times. In the small shops of "canapai", potters, dyers and strikers; capable handicraft maestro realize exclusive objects using the arts and the techniques of the Middle Ages.
The main square, in its splendid essentialness, is the most appropriate scenario for the Market of the "Gaite" and is the corner of the most representative moments like the opening and closing ceremony, as well as the competitions between districts; on this stage, the modern Bevagna unifies itself with the medieval Bevagna, and its inhabitants abandon their everyday clothes for materials and fabrics of noble and farmers, lawyers and handicraftsmen bringing back to life the traditional activity of their ancestors. The market of the "Gaite", although it is born recently, has already taken its countenance; the willing of the animators to focus on the evocation and entertaining, maintaining the highest loyalty to history, makes nowadays of this event one of the most significant offer among the similar existing expressions.

Il Mercato delle Gaite trae ispirazione dall'antica divisione di Bevagna (un comune di poco più di 5.000 abitanti della provincia di Perugia. È inserita tra i Borghi più belli d'Italia) in quattro quartieri denominati Gaite su cui si basava l'organizzazione amministrativa della città in epoca medievale Lo scopo della manifestazione è quello di ricostruire con la maggiore attinenza storica e dovizia di particolari la vita quotidiana degli abitanti di Bevagna nel periodo compreso tra il 1250 e 1350. A tal scopo, fin dal 1983 un gruppo di studiosi esamina accuratamente lo Statuto cinquecentesco del Comune di Bevagna da cui sono tratte le informazioni necessarie alla ricostruzione storica della vita politica, amministrativa, economica e sociale. Per dieci giorni, quindi, alla fine di giugno Bevagna fa un tuffo, in questo remoto passato: le antiche botteghe dei mestieri medievali riaprono i loro battenti e riprendono le attività e le strade si popolano di bevanati che in abiti d'epoca vivono la quotidianità dei loro avi mangiando, lavorando, giocando proprio come loro.

From June 4th to August 27th Lidò Dinner Music events take place: live music and dinner events at the sunset during which its possible to taste the best local wines and food living the Trasimeno Blues festival atmosphere in its elegant and refined dimension. One of the most suggestive venue of the Trasimeno lake, the Lidò Hotel Restaurant in Passignano is going to live again the mythic ’50s and ’60s when it hosted all the most popular singers and orchestras giving also inspiration to the famous Italian songwriter Franco Migliacci to write the famous Italian song “Una rotonda sul mare”.

Six events in which ’30 Swing, ‘50s Jive and the great Italian music tradition blend with the Soul, Etno-Folk, Blues and Jazz. The first appointment is on June 4th with the amazing show by Spaghetti Swing: great musicians recreate the atmosphere of the ‘50s Italian Jazz clubs with humour, cool dress and original interpretation of authors like Fred Buscaglione, Toto', Renzo Arbore, Louis Prima, Paolo Conte, Nicola Arigliano. Festival goes on the 18th of June with the project “Mina in Black” in which the refined singer from Chicago Cheryl Porter present evergreens by Mina in a Jazz and Blues key. On Saturday July 2nd the polyhedral musician and author Joe Damiani, in a trio line up, will present his original homage to Modugno in a raising of feelings and emotion between Rock, Pop and Etno Folk. The 24th of July will take place a special event inside the Trasimeno Blues festival program: the talented singer and songwriter Awa Ly together with the eclectic guitarist Valerio Guaraldi will take us through a voyage between different cultures with a Pop’n’Folk repertory merged with Blues, Jazz and Soul. On August 13th the Jumpin’ Shoes orchestra will offer an ironic and exhilarant show framed in a suggestive scenario and songs by Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Louis Prima, but also an homage to the Italian Swing from Renato Carosone to Fred Buscaglione. Lidò Dinner Music will end on August 27th with the Blu Mocambo Trio: a love act to Paolo Conte, one of the most brilliant and appreciated musician in the Italian and European scene. His refined art is the great protagonist of this concert/tribute, a trip around the beautiful melodies, colours and feelings of the Conte’s universe.

Umbria Jazz ha messo a segno un ultimo grande colpo a favore del cartellone 2011: il prossimo 15 luglio a Perugia ci sarà Prince, che si esibirà all’Arena Santa Giuliana.
Quella di Umbria Jazz dovrebbe essere l’unica data italiana di Prince.
