This year's edition of the Pietrafitta wild asparagus festival will run from April 22nd to May 1st, offering visitors a broad assortment of mouthwatering local specialities using asparagus.

La Sagra dell'asparago di bosco a Pietrafitta

Il menù è vario e completamente a base di asparagi: crostini e bruschette preparano l'appetito del turista e viaggiatore che poi può deliziarsi con pasta di vario tipo (tagliatelle, vermicelli, casarecce,...) e con secondi prelibati al profumo di bosco come il roastbeef e l'agnello.

Fra i dolci si preparano con grande maestria le frittelle e la Torta al testo (una specie di piastra incandescente di ferro su cui viene verso un impasto di farina, acqua e lievito).

Questa tipica torta che somiglia alla piadina di emiliana memoria, è farcita per tradizione con prosciutto o salsicce, ma anche con rape ed erbe cotte.

I giovani hanno preso l'abitudine di farcirla con la Nutella®.

Musica dal vivo intrattiene e rallegra gli stand che sono tutti al coperto per evitare brutte sorprese meteo in queste prime serate di primavera.

Durante il pomeriggio sono in mostra i prodotti tipici dell'artigianato del luogo fra cui modelli e arnesi in ferro battuto e sculture in legno d'olivo.

Pietrafitta è un piccolo borgo situato a metà strada tra Chiusi e Perugia, presso Piegaro.

Sorge su una collina che domina la valle del fiume Nestore e conserva testimonianze di interesse storico e artistico.

Nato come centro rurale, è noto oggi soprattutto per i reperti fossili degli antichi giacimenti di lignite che costituiscono un patrimonio paleontologico e sono gratuitamente visitabili anche nei giorni di questa sagra dell'asparago di bosco.

Fontanaro has a new friendship: the Trasimeno Music Festival 2011.

The Trasimeno Music Festival Association was formed by the happy fruition of
two beautiful but originally distant things: on one side the
world-renowned Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt, and on the other, the
Umbrian town of Magione, on the shores of Lake Trasimeno. When Angela,
regarded as one of the greatest living interpreters of the music of J.S.
Bach, first discovered this area of great natural beauty, she fell in love
with it immediately. Then, with her unique blend of charm and passion, she
decided to bring her music to the region in the form of an annual music
festival. For a week each summer, she presents concerts in the magical
atmosphere of the Castle of the Knights of Malta in Magione using
international artists of the highest level. To accomplish this, and thanks
to the interest and passion of local friends and collaborators, the
Trasimeno Music Festival Association was formed.

This summer festival, which has grown to also include concerts in Perugia
and Gubbio, will be presented for the seventh time in 2011.

With this happy union between local and international elements, the life of
the Association is diverging into a more widespread activity, with
lecture-demonstrations held in schools, discussions with authors who write
about music in their work, masterclasses with young pianists, and Friends
Associations being formed around the world - a reflection of the worldwide
attention that characterizes both Angela Hewitt and the festival.
